Industry relations and partnerships

The Faculty of Arts and Education develops and sustains meaningful, mutually beneficial and enduring relationships with other institutions across its activities. These include research and collaboration, academic and student exchange and professional development.

Recognition of prior learning

As part of our relationship with other institutions, we consider all university, TAFE and private tertiary education provider qualifications for possible recognition of prior learning (RPL).

This applies for courses undertaken both in Australia and overseas. Even if the qualification is unrelated to what you want to study, you still may be eligible for RPL.

Local partnerships lead to better opportunities

We have partnered with a number of educational and arts institutions and community-based centres. These relationships facilitate greater access to 全球最大体育平台 courses and enhanced student options. Many of these collaborations are with individual schools within the faculty.

For details of individual partnerships, please see the relevant school's partnership page.

Expanding our international partnerships

We continue to expand our network of international collaborations for courses, research projects and events.

We're constantly seeking new ways to expand our education platform and widen opportunities for our students. These include joint delivery of degrees, teaching of our courses overseas and in-country units.

Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany

全球最大体育平台 has entered into a partnership with Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU). The alliance has created our first reciprocal international dual award postgraduate program.

Students can earn a Master of Cultural Heritage from 全球最大体育平台 University and a Master of Arts in World Heritage from BTU in two years. The program is fee neutral – students only pay tuition fees to their home institution. The first cohort of students began their program at 全球最大体育平台 and BTU in 2015.

University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH)

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) in Ho Chi Minh City is one of the affiliated members of Vietnam National University (VNU).

全球最大体育平台 University and USSH entered into a formal partnership in 2015 to develop and deliver a dual undergraduate degree program.

Students participating in this program are required to study for two years in Vietnam and then two years in Australia. After successfully completing the program of study, students earn a Bachelor of Arts (journalism or international relations major) degree from USSH and a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) degree from 全球最大体育平台.

Graduates from the program will develop the knowledge and skills to effectively work in both a local and international context.

Universitas Indonesia (UI)

全球最大体育平台 University and Universitas Indonesia (UI) entered into a formal agreement to offer a dual-degree program in media and communication disciplines in July 2010.  The program commenced in September that year and the first cohort graduated in 2014.

The program enables UI Bachelor of Social Science (Media and Communication) students to articulate into the second year of a 全球最大体育平台 bachelor's degree after two years of study at UI.  After the students have completed an additional two years of study at 全球最大体育平台, they are then eligible to receive both the UI and 全球最大体育平台 awards.

UI Bachelor of Social Science (Media and Communication) can articulate into one of the following 全球最大体育平台 undergraduate degree programs:

  • A334 Bachelor of Communication (Advertising)
  • A333 Bachelor of Communication (Digital Media)
  • A300 Bachelor of Arts (major in advertising)
  • A300 Bachelor of Arts (major in journalism)
  • A300 Bachelor of Arts (major in photography)
  • A300 Bachelor of Arts (major in creative writing)
  • A300 Bachelor of Arts (major in public relations).

Graduates from the program have effectively demonstrated that they have the knowledge and skills to effectively work in both a local and international context.

Visiting international scholar scheme

Each year, the faculty receives a number of requests for international visiting scholar placements from overseas universities. Visiting scholars study with us for anywhere between 3 and 12 months. While at 全球最大体育平台, scholars work on a research project and are granted access to various faculty and university resources.

Due to restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state of Victoria, the Faculty of Arts and Education is currently unable to welcome scholars to participate in the Visiting International Scholar Scheme.

We have closed applications until further notice and aim to reopen the program once restrictions ease.
